On the morning of 10 November 2025, Li Zexiang — Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, founder of the XbotPark Robotics Base, and known as the “godfather of DJI” — led a group of local Yongzhou entrepreneurs to visit Dongguan Klinsun Power Co.,Ltd. for a tour and research. Klinsun Power’s core business team accompanied and received the guests throughout, and all parties held in-depth discussions on robot power support, industry-chain collaborative development, the deployment of industry-academia-research results and joint development of their hometown industry.

Walking into the front line of production and research to explore core robot power technologies

The delegation successively visited Klinsun Power’s automated production workshop and professional R&D laboratory. In the workshop, standardized full-process testing equipment ran in an orderly manner, and a number of dedicated robot chargers completed processes such as aging, withstand-voltage and communication-linkage reliability tests in sequence. In the R&D laboratory, the technical team was debugging a new-generation high-power smart charging solution that can adapt to products such as humanoid robot dogs, inspection robots and automated warehouse charging equipment. As a professional manufacturer deeply engaged in the power adapter and lithium charger field for more than 30 years, Klinsun Power had long laid out a deep presence in the robot support track. On site it showed Professor Li Zexiang’s group the R&D results of its customized charging solutions for industrial and consumer-grade robots. Professor Li stopped to view several product prototypes and focused on key technical details such as constant-voltage/constant-current power control, high-temperature stability and battery communication identification, and spoke highly of the important value of the supporting component industry: “For the robot machine industry to achieve long-term development, the strength of basic core components such as power supplies and electronic controls is an important guarantee.”

It was mentioned during the discussion that Klinsun Power has established industrial cooperation with several leading robot enterprises within Professor Li Zexiang’s sci-tech innovation ecosystem, providing original supporting chargers for Unitree’s Go2 and H1 series humanoid and quadruped robot dogs. The products have been verified in large-scale real markets and have built a mature and complete technical system in high-power output, safety protection and outdoor condition adaptability.

Focusing on industry pain points to discuss the development trend of the robot charging industry

This discussion focused on the differentiated charging-technology needs of robots in different application scenarios, analyzing existing industry technical difficulties and future upgrading directions. Industry practice experience was shared during the exchange: industrial robots value long-term full-load stable output and high/low-temperature tolerance; household, educational and companion service robots place higher demands on charging safety, compact design, intelligent interaction and low-noise performance. Relying on long-accumulated technical strength, Klinsun Power has completed the layout of a multi-scenario charging product line, including a high-power fast-charging system for field operations, an automatic docking charging module for warehouse robots and a safe charging module for lightweight educational robots, fully covering mainstream market application needs. Professor Li fully affirmed this, noting that the maturity of a robot depends to a large extent on the development level of the supporting component industry chain. As the energy heart of robot equipment, a charger’s safety performance, charging efficiency and intelligence directly affect the robot’s operating endurance and the user’s actual experience, and it is a key segmented track that cannot be ignored in the robot industry chain.

Hometown kinship: building a closed loop of Yongzhou’s industry-academia-research industry

During the exchange, the parties talked about Klinsun Power’s plan to return home to invest and build a factory, and Professor Li Zexiang highly approved of the chairman’s development approach of giving back to his hometown and driving local intelligent manufacturing progress. He said that, as industry practitioners who both came out of Yongzhou, promoting mutual development among local enterprises and giving back to their hometown through industrial construction is a shared responsibility. Professor Li introduced the operating model of the Xiangjiang Sci-Tech Innovation Institute in Changsha, which jointly launches sci-tech innovation education-reform experimental classes with several local universities such as Hunan University and Central South University, opening up the complete link of university research tackling, talent training and enterprise result transformation. In the future, local Yongzhou technical talent cultivated by the institute can deeply link with Klinsun Power’s Hunan production base to build a two-way collaboration channel of “campus R&D — enterprise mass production,” constructing a sustainable industry-academia-research cycle and helping upgrade the intelligent manufacturing industry in their hometown.

Touring the Dongguan enterprise ecosystem to build a long-term sci-tech innovation exchange platform

In the afternoon, the Klinsun Power team accompanied Professor Li and the Yongzhou entrepreneur delegation to visit several Yongzhou-native manufacturing enterprises in Dongguan, conducting on-site research into the automation upgrading, talent introduction and market expansion status of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, and sorting out manufacturing transformation opportunities and real challenges. At the end of the exchange, Professor Li led the formation of the Dongguan sci-tech innovation ecosystem exchange group. He said this visit was only the beginning of industry collaborative cooperation, and that in the future he would continue to open up multi-party resource channels, routinely promote the exchange of technology, market and talent information, bring frontier sci-tech innovation concepts into real manufacturing, and achieve two-way empowerment of research theory and industrial production.

Connecting the whole industry chain to build a hard-tech collaborative ecosystem

Professor Li Zexiang has the dual identity of scholar and industry incubator, and relying on the two platforms of the XbotPark Robotics Base and the Xiangjiang Sci-Tech Innovation Institute, he has successfully incubated many industry unicorns such as DJI and Narwal. His core development philosophy is to break down the barriers among academic research, industrial manufacturing and market application and build a complete hard-tech innovation ecosystem. Talking about this exchange with Klinsun Power, he concluded that the transformation and upgrading of domestic manufacturing cannot do without close collaboration across the upstream and downstream industry chains. From underlying power components to machine product R&D, only by continuously specializing and deepening in each segmented field can the robot industry achieve scale-up development. Klinsun Power highly agrees with this view. The company has always focused on deep cultivation of the power segment, continuously iterating dedicated high-power charging solutions for robots, empowering machine manufacturers with high-quality supporting products, and advancing together with the entire industry ecosystem.

Klinsun Power

Gathering strength for win-win cooperation, establishing a new direction for long-term collaborative development

This on-site visit and in-depth discussion consolidated the foundation of Klinsun Power’s deep cooperation with Professor Li Zexiang’s sci-tech innovation ecosystem and reached several long-term development consensuses. For Klinsun Power, close access to the frontier needs of the robot industry enables it to further optimize and iterate its customized charging solutions, improve its dedicated power product lines for humanoid robots, quadruped robot dogs and inspection equipment, and consolidate its competitive advantage in the high-end robot supporting supply chain. For the cluster of sci-tech innovation enterprises incubated by Professor Li Zexiang, Klinsun Power has mature and stable large-scale production capability, a complete safety certification system and custom R&D service strength that can help machine enterprises shorten new-product R&D cycles, reduce supply chain risks and improve the overall stability of end products. Klinsun Power stated that this exchange opened a completely new channel for the company to connect with the frontier of the robot industry. In the future, the company will continue to increase R&D investment in high-power smart chargers, leverage the advantages of its dual production bases in the Greater Bay Area and Hunan, deeply link with the industry’s sci-tech innovation ecosystem, and work together to help the domestic robot supporting industry chain develop with high quality.
