Recently, Unitree’s bipedal humanoid robot “Bobo” officially entered Li Auto’s offline channels as an AI experience officer, and will successively cover stores and public venues in Beijing, Zhuhai and Zhengzhou. This is the first time a domestic humanoid robot has entered commercial retail scenarios at scale to perform real services, marking the industry’s move from the technical demonstration stage into the commercial deployment exploration period.
Previously, humanoid robots mostly appeared at tech exhibitions and laboratory demonstrations, with their core value concentrated on showcasing technical capability. Li Auto’s deployment of humanoid robots to retail terminals to take on actual functions such as greeting, explanation and feature demonstration is a real commercial validation of robots’ environmental interaction, continuous operation and scenario adaptability, with milestone significance for the industry.
If this attempt succeeds, humanoid robots will quickly be replicated to retail, cultural tourism, exhibition halls and many other service scenarios, and industry demand will see volume growth. Behind the demand explosion, besides machine technology maturity, the supporting capability of the upstream support system is equally key.
Humanoid robots entering real commercial scenarios imposes requirements on the charging support system far higher than consumer-grade:
First, continuous-operation reliability. Stores and venues generally operate more than 10 hours a day, requiring chargers to be highly stable with low temperature rise and to support long uninterrupted operation, while charging efficiency must meet fast energy-replenishment needs.
Second, public-space safety. Commercial scenarios are crowded, and charging equipment must meet strict electrical safety standards with comprehensive over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protection, and must pass relevant safety certifications.
Third, multi-scenario adaptability. From indoor stores to outdoor venues, different scenarios vary in power environment and temperature/humidity conditions, requiring charging equipment to support wide-voltage input and possess strong environmental adaptability.
Facing the upgrading needs of commercial scenarios, leading domestic power-support enterprises have completed their technical layout. Taking Dongguan Klinsun Power Co.,Ltd. as an example, as a long-term core power partner of Unitree, its customized lithium battery chargers for Unitree’s full series of humanoid and quadruped robots have completed several optimizations for commercial scenarios: an efficient resonant topology reduces circuit loss and controls temperature rise during long operation; multiple hardware-level safety protections are integrated to match public-space electrical safety standards; 90-264V wide-voltage input adapts to the power environments of different regions and scenarios; and battery BMS communication linkage precisely matches the charging curve and extends battery cycle life.
At present, this series of charging support has been applied in batch with Unitree robots in exhibition halls, commercial stores, outdoor operations and many other scenarios, verifying its stability and reliability in commercial scenarios.
The acceleration of humanoid robot commercialization will drive the power-support industry to upgrade from consumer-grade to commercial-grade standards. In the future, power enterprises with scenario-customization R&D capability, a full-chain safety certification system and stable batch delivery capability will deeply benefit from the industry’s expansion dividend and become an indispensable supporting link in the humanoid robot industry chain.
